Agency Description:

The Violence Recovery Program at Fenway Community Health is located in Boston Massachusetts, and provides counseling and advocacy services to GLBT survivors of hate crimes, domestic violence, sexual assault, police misconduct, and discrimination/harrassment based on sexual orientation or gender identity. The VRP provides assistance with understanding your options, court accompaniment, assistance in accessing criminal justice personnel (including police and court personnel), and support for dealing with systems. The VRP also provides safety planning, support, short-term trauma counseling and education about the effects of trauma and coping strategies. The VRP also provides several support groups: a group for GLBT survivors of domestic violence, a group for male survivors of sexual assault, and a trauma education group for people dealing with recent trauma. Services at the VRP are available in English and Spanish, and our 800-number is accesible from anywhere within Massachusetts.
